Hey, here’s a clip of Michael Moore! Let’s get angry at or with him! Although I could easily stop there, I suppose I’ll dig deeper some context to this video. Last Friday, Michael Moore appeared via satellite on Real Time with Bill Maher to discuss a number of issues including, naturally, the “Ground Zero Mosque.” While talking about its opponents, Moore proposed calling Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin “Mullahs” and “clerics,” implying that they were the American version of the Taliban.
Moore should be ashamed! Doesn’t he know that America is always a leader in trends? When we create conservative fundamentalists, they’re completely new and original! We don’t need to copy anyone else! I’d love to see the Taliban come up with their own Sarah Palin. Oh, wait, they can’t. They’d be too busy stoning her to death for wearing running shorts. USA! USA!
Ahem. As Moore’s done previously, he followed up his exaggerated comment designed to infuriate his enemies with a rousing comment meant to engage his followers. Moore pointed out that Muslims as well died on 9/11 and that, if Palin wanted to keep Ground Zero Islam-free, she’d have to raise them from the dead and lead them off.
Bill Maher, meanwhile, tried to remind him that Real Time’s technically a comedy show.
